[Finished] Redemption (BTS - Mafia AU)
  • Cherry
  • *The following morning*
  • I woke up early as I heard the buzz around the house. I sat on the bed as I looked at the room.
  • It was an elaborate one, its design a mix between modern and classical. The walls have been covered with a black wallpaper which had their own classical designs embedded in them. The bed was a large, double bed with a black cover with black and red cushions.
  • In the room, there was also a single sofa where one could sit to read and a large television right opposite the bed. Against one wall there was a modern fireplace and a large chandelier hanged right above. There was a single picture frame of some kind of modern, abstract art as well.
  • I sighed as I stood up and headed towards the wardrobe. There weren’t many clothes but at least there were some sweatpants and hoodies which I could use. Then again, I never had much to begin with. For the past year, I’ve been on the run and had to use the same two or three outfits along with my beloved leather jacket.
  • I headed to the ensuite bathroom as I closed the door. I stripped off my clothing and went into the shower. For the past year, I’ve been travelling between cheap motels that sometimes did not even have warm water, much less hot. There were nights I slept outside or managed to sneak in some empty house.
  • Having a shower like this was a luxury for me. I grabbed the shampoo and squeezed in a generous amount on my hand before I rubbed it into my hair. It felt good to do so. I felt clean and refreshed. I walked under the water and washed my hair thoroughly as I made sure I did not have any soap left.
  • I rinsed myself and walked out of the shower. I grabbed the towel and wrapped it around my body. It felt fluffy and I could not help myself but smile. I looked at the mirror and stared a bit at my reflection. I saw a woman I barely recognize. Once upon a time, there used to be an innocent girl.
  • I sighed as I quickly dried off and headed to the bedroom. I put on one of the hoodie and a pair of sweatpants that were a little too big for me. I put on the house slippers and tied my hair in a ponytail. I grabbed my sword and put it in place.
  • I took a deep breath and headed downstairs to the dining room where I could hear the commotion. Yoongi’s eyes landed on me as he smirked slightly. ‘Good morning Cherry,’ he said.
  • ‘Good morning Yoongi,’ I said as I went to the table and sat down. I could see the uneasy glances of some of them. Jin and Taehyung were wary of me but were still polite while Hoseok did not trust me at all and he did nothing to hide it. Yoongi seemed to be amazed by my presence in the house. Jungkook and Jimin seemed to be a little more warm around the idea of me being here.
  • ‘Good morning,’ Myung said with a smile. She had a truly beautiful smile and she was gorgeous too. I could see why Namjoon would have been attracted to her. I smiled and nodded at her.
  • ‘Good morning Myung,’ I said. Instantly, I saw Hoseok tense up as if I just told her to go jump off a cliff.
  • ‘If you’re going to be her personal guard, you should call her ma’am,’ he chastised and I could not help but laugh a little.
  • ‘Do you call Namjoon sir, boss or daddy?’ I retorted back. I heard Yoongi stifle a laugh and Jimin chocked on the coffee he was drinking. Hoseok’s face turned red – either with embarrassment or rage, or maybe both.
  • ‘You little rascal have no idea of respect, do you?’ he snapped at me and shrugged as I sipped on my coffee.
  • ‘Respect is not given Hoseok, it is earned. You certainly have not earned mine yet,’ I said. His face turned even darker as his hands were balled into a fist.
  • ‘Enough. Let’s start the day on a good note,’ Myung said. I quickly confirmed what I had known. She was not just the boss’ wife but someone highly ranked and respected. ‘Cherry, you can call me Myung if you prefer but I also need you to know that these six men are not Namjoon’s guards. They are trusted brothers who help run this organization,’ she said.
  • ‘Of course, Myung,’ I said as I looked back at Hoseok who is glaring at me. From the corner of my eye, I saw Jimin giving Jungkook some money and I could not help but smile. I quickly realized that they had done some sort of bet. It made me wonder how the talk went last night.
  • ‘Namjoon-hyung told us you’ll be staying for the week,’ Taehyung said and I nodded. ‘I don’t know what my brother is thinking but if he is willing to trust you, I will do so as well,’ Taehyung said and I nodded once more.
  • ‘With that being said, I do have a responsibility to look after Namjoon as an older brother,’ Jin said. ‘Betray my brother and you will face consequences,’ Jin said, a certain edge to his voice.
  • ‘Hyung, can we not start breakfast with talks of threats and consequences?’ Namjoon said quickly but I shook my head.
  • ‘No, it’s okay Namjoon. I do understand him and I admire his honesty. Rest assured Seokjin, I gave my word to Namjoon and I am someone who keeps to their word,’ I said but I heard Hoseok scoff.
  • ‘Like you did with the Scarlets,’ I heard him mutter but I chose to ignore him. Seokjin nodded at me as I turned back to Myung.
  • ‘Now, how about we eat hm?’ Myung said as everyone nodded.
  • Jungkook
  • The rest of breakfast passed without Hoseok and Cherry trying to rip each other apart. It was almost funny seeing the two butting heads. They both have very strong personalities so I knew that they would have problems that they will need to figure out.
  • I headed towards the training space with Taehyung and Jimin while the others scattered to their own places. Yoongi was in his “office” where he would spend hours on his computer, hacking and checking databases. Jin was probably in his infirmary, reading some medical book and Hoseok would probably be at the shooting range.
  • ‘What do you think about Cherry, Kook?’ Jimin asked as the three of us took off our hoodies. I shrugged and turned to them.
  • ‘She seems cool enough,’ I said.
  • ‘She does but I’m worried. Hosoek-hyung raised a good point. She did betray the Scarlets although the reason was never quite said,’ Taehyung replied.
  • ‘Exactly. We don’t know the reason she left but we all know the Scarlets are not exactly sweethearts. They’re not like us, they’re not a family,’ Jimin replied.
  • ‘Yeah, they’re practically hired hitmen, well, women,’ Taehyung said with a slight smile.
  • ‘And they’re very good at what they do. You saw the mess she left there. She took on four armed men and discarded them in a few minutes as if they were paper going through a shredder,’ I said.
  • ‘Poor lads never knew what hit them. You heard what Myung said. They were all smug and cool until she took out her sword and they realized she was a Scarlet,’ Jimin said.
  • ‘The tag Scarlet is already enough to make hardened killers shake and look like kids,’ Taehyung said.
  • ‘Come on, enough with the chit chat and let’s get to training,’ Jimin said suddenly as he clapped his hand on each of our shoulders. The three of us head towards the ring. We bowed to one another and then got into position.
  • The three of us panted as we stopped to catch our breath when we heard clapping. We turned to find Cherry by the door, clapping and smiling. ‘I do have to admit you are rather impressive,’ she said.
  • ‘Why thank you Cherry. Do you think you can do better?’ Jimin asked in a playful challenge. She laughed as she got into the ring.
  • ‘Without a doubt,’ she replied as cockily as ever. She truly had a certain air about her. It was as if she knew she was good and she flaunted it.
  • ‘Great, then you can face Kooks,’ Jimin said.
  • ‘WHAT?’ I asked as I was brought back to reality. I looked at Jimin with wide eyes. ‘Why me? You’re the one who challenged her!’ I said.
  • ‘Oh come on Kooks, don’t tell me you’re afraid,’ she taunted. I scoffed as Taehyung and Jimin chuckled.
  • ‘Not in this lifetime,’ I said as she took off her sword and handed it to Taehyung.
  • ‘Take care of that,’ she said before she let go of it. Taehyung simply nodded as he and Jimin left the ring. I saw her look at me as she tilted her head. ‘Whenever you’re ready,’ she said as she winked at me.
  • I laughed before I charged at her. I went for a punch but she blocked it easily and retaliated with a punch to the stomach. I gulped as I recoiled slightly back. She smirked which only made me want to go at her even more. I went to attack her again but she barely moved and just dodged. She was trying to tire me out and I was letting her. It was almost as if she had cast a spell on me and I was doing exactly what she wanted me to do.
  • I almost tripped when I went to punch her and she ducked. Something seemed to snap as she suddenly kicked me in the back, forcing me to one knee. She moved fast and accurately as her foot connected to my shoulder and the next one went to my jaw.
  • ‘You’re good,’ I heard Jimin say as I stood up. She looked at them and motioned for them to come into the ring. Taehyung and Jimin exchanged a look before they nodded and climbed in. Those two were really good fighters on their own but they were even more dangerous when together. We always joked about how they had a special soulmate connection because they always seemed to know what the other is thinking.
  • ‘Good luck,’ I said as I went out of the ring and headed to the bench. I took out my phone as I started to record them. I knew this was going to be good. They went on two sides of her, thinking they could corner her. Jimin attacked first but this time, she did not just play around.
  • She blocked and used her leg to sweep him off. He fell with a thud on the ring before she turned to Taehyung. She blocked his attacks and then kicked his stomach. She turned to Jimin once more and elbowed him in the nose and then used her palm to hit Taehyung’s nose as well. She laughed as she kicked Jimin in his knee and then moved so that Taehyung ended up crashing into him.
  • I laughed loudly as I stopped the recording and went into the ring. ‘Wow noona. You really are good,’ I said as I high fived with them.
  • ‘Yeah, yeah but did you have to hit my pretty nose?’ Jimin asked, rubbing his nose. She just shrugged and I smiled as I turned. My eyes fell on the door where I saw Hoseok looking on. I could not read his expression though. Was he bothered? Was he impressed? He saw me looking and frowned before he left.
  • ‘Come on, let’s go get something to eat. I’m so hungry I could eat your head right now,’ Taehyung commented and she nodded. The four of us left the ring as we headed up to the kitchen.
  • Hoseok and Cherry are definitely not seeing eye to eye. Some have welcomed her but it does not mean that they trust her. Still, if Namjoon said she is staying, she is staying. I look forward to your thoughts as always! - Tae's Misfit
